Cleanse and Detox facial bar soap with sea buckthorn berry.

I was given the opportunity to test out a facial soap. Not just any facial soap, but one that contains Himalayan sea buckthorn berry.These little hard berries are known as the “beauty berry” across Europe and Asia. They contain over 190 bioactive compounds that restore, revitalize, and protect youthful beauty – from the inside-out AND outside-in. They boast an ability to nourish skin, hair, and nails with powerful antioxidants and essential fatty acids, including the rare Omega 7 – a key building block to healthy skin, hair, and nails, and also aids digestion and may help you maintain a healthier weight. 




I've never heard of sea buckthorn berries, or seen any products with them in use, either. I'm really glad I found this product, though. There are a few things that attracted me to it initially, and I feel that anyone who is going to a non toxic lifestyle might enjoy this product as a beginning try at ditching their old cleaner.

To use it, you simply lather between hands and apply to a wet face in circular motions, pat dry with a clean towel. The first time I had used the soap, it made my skin break out (not horrifically, but noticeable). It made me really upset and I didn't want to continue using it. Part of my job is to give a fair, honest review and I like to give things a good run in order to make informed decisions on the product.

Well, I felt a little silly about being upset. I gave the box a one-more-over to see what, if any, ingredients could irritate me and then I remembered, it's a DETOX bar. The ingredients in the bar are actively fighting to help purify and recover my skin. This makes me happier immediately, because the break-out signifies impurities being expelled. 

This product can be used on all skin types. The ingredients combine together to produce a natural astringent that cleans and conditions your skin. It also inhibits bacterial growth, while it revitalizes skin cells and promotes tissue recovery and healing.

After using the soap for a week, my face is already improving (no more new breakouts) and my face is even looking brighter.

A really cool fact about the company is that the sea buckthorn berries are sourced through Fair Trade agreements with local harvesters in Tibet. Cool!
